Skids & Pallets
Custom Skids & Pallets in Denver, CO — Built to Your Load
Stock pallets are built for stock loads. When your freight is heavier, longer, or shaped wrong for a 48×40, you need a skid built to the load — sized to the footprint, rated for the weight, and designed for how it'll actually be lifted. Specialized Moving Services fabricates custom skids and pallets in Denver: one-offs for a single machine, short runs for a product line, and export-stamped ISPM-15 skids for international freight. Built at our Englewood shop or on-site at your facility, since 1988.
What we build
- Heavy-duty skids sized and rated to the machine or product they carry
- Custom-dimension pallets for oversized, long, or non-standard footprints
- Bolt-down skid bases with mounting points matched to your equipment
- ISPM-15 heat-treated, IPPC-stamped skids and pallets for export
- Ramped or notched designs for pallet-jack access where forklifts can't reach
- Short production runs when your product ships on the same custom footprint every time
Why the skid design matters
A skid is the interface between your freight and every forklift, dock plate, and truck deck it will meet. Runner direction determines which sides a forklift can approach from. Deck thickness determines whether the load sags. Fastener choice determines whether the skid survives the third handling or delaminates on the second. We build to the load and the route — and if a stock pallet would genuinely do the job, we'll tell you to save the money.
Who orders custom skids
Manufacturers shipping product that doesn't fit standard pallets — or that gets damaged every time it rides one. Riggers and machinery movers who need a bolt-down base under a machine before it travels. Freight forwarders who need export-stamped skids under cargo headed overseas. And businesses consolidating a one-time shipment that just needs to be done right once.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you build single custom skids or only production runs?
Both. One skid under one machine is a normal job for us, and so is a recurring run for a product line. No minimums.
Can you make export-compliant pallets?
Yes — ISPM-15 heat-treated lumber with the IPPC bug stamp, same certification as our export crates.
How much weight can a custom skid carry?
We build to the load — multi-ton skids are routine. Give us the weight and footprint and we'll spec runners and decking to match, with honest margins.
Can you build the skid under equipment at our facility?
Yes. For machinery that's already in place we fabricate on-site and coordinate with your rigger to get the machine onto the skid safely.
